Super Hero

Well when I was little I got confused about the spelling of supper and super, and which to use when. I guess that has stuck with me somehow.

This was an assignment for a digital illustration class. The project was to use only Illustrator and create a vector image for Illustration Friday. I really enjoyed this one. I wanted to stay away from the expected, though I may not have gone far enough. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Really nice illustration. I like your line quality a lot. Yeah it looks computer-y but not in the bad sense. Your line thickness variation is very well done. I have a problem with the type. I think it should be bigger, or smaller and could be placed better. Also, the only reason that the black outline on the type looks ok is because of the black outline on the sandwich. I almost think the type shouldn't have the outline. You should see if it looks better.

I like this one, it is one of my favorites. Not only is the idea funny, but it looks like you had an easier time with Illustrator than most of your classmates. I think you could have added more, maybe a bag of chips or a pickle or something beside it. And I'm not sure I like the drop shadows on the stripes. Good job.

Trevor-

Congrats on your work. It looks like you put in more time than most on this assignment. I hope I'm right.

However, I do wonder if the sandwich could have been "beefed" up more. I can see four ingredients. I would think that a sandwich that kick's hunger's butt would have much more on it. Meatballs, multiple layers of tomatoes, pickles, onions, sauce coming out the sides etc.

Nice work. I look forward to see what you post next week.
